Patio Cubes

Patio Cubes comprise a hyperbolic shade sail flown on top of a pergola frame. They can be either square or rectangle in shape and are limited to around 20ft in width and length. Sails can be flown with both regular and waterproof fabric extending their usage well into the shoulder seasons. These modular shade solutions were designed for seating areas in food and beverage establishments, however, they can also be used for a variety of other applications including education and temporary space.

Advantages

Ease of Install & Minimal Footings – Patio Cubes are shipped as a self-build kit and can be assembled by your existing maintenance team, reducing the overall project cost. This product is just as easy to disassembled and can easily be taken down or moved during the season. Patio Cubes can also free-stand without the need to dig into or blot onto an existing surface making them great for events or anywhere that requires temporary shade.

Extendable – The modular nature of this product provides the flexibility to extend the shaded area as you please, this is great for projects that are being expanded in stages or where you need to stretch your budget for shade over a period of time. Patio Cubes can connect together on any side or line up as single units.

Affordable – Due to the reduction in engineering and installation costs, Pato Cubes are very cost-effective compared to many of our other products.

Aesthetically Pleasing – The shade sail component of this product is flown with a classic hyperbolic look, where two diagonally opposing attachment points are significantly higher than the opposite attachment points, twisting the fabric. This not only looks impressive but also increases the sails performance in wind and rain.

Disadvantages

Limited Span & Creativity – Patio Cubes have a limited span of around a 20ft span, we usually solve this issue by chaining together multiple cubes. Additionally, the kit format does come with many benefits, however, this limits the ability to customize the shape of a canopy.

Specific Footing Placement – Unlike a free-span fabric structure, where we have a large degree of freedom with post-placement, Patio Cubes require specific footing placement, which is with bearing in mind when designing your space.

Construction

Advanced Tensioning System – Our ATS system includes a stainless steel cable that runs along the perimeter of your sail ensuring equal tensioning, increased water run-off and zero-stretch, lengthening the life of your structure.
Double-Stitched Seams – Poorly constructed seams can lead to fraying and strain on a sail’s perimeter. We double stitch our seams with high-quality UV-stabilised thread ensuring a clean even look throughout the perimeter of your sail.
Triple-Layered Reinforced Corners – Our reinforced corners allow increased levels of tension, improving the aesthetic of the sail and its performance in wind and rain.
High-Quality Steel – Our brackets are made from 14-gauge Canadian Steel and all of our hardware is made from marine-grade forged 316 stainless steel imported from Denmark.
